Founded on May 20, 1989, and Beth Shalom is the only organized Jewish congregation in East Alabama. Our synagogue building was dedicated on November 15, 1992. While our congregation is lay-led, we have regular visits from visiting rabbis, particularly from the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life.
 

Our congregation is lay-led, and we are affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism. However, we support the traditions of all who are members of the East Central Alabama Jewish community

We are affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. We have a close relationship with the Auburn University Hillel. All our services and events are open and free to Hillel students, including high holy day services.
